… without any border controls or security checks. But, after approx. 6 weeks, we had to cross a border again – the one between the US and Canada. We decided to drive to a smaller border station near Lynden to avoid a long waiting time. It worked out quite well and so we could proceed further north without a sincere delay. So, welcome to Canada.
For our way up we decided to drive on the road that leads us to Whistler. When we passed Whistler it rained and in addition all the parking lots were full – this place is one of the major destinations for people from Vancouver when it comes to weekend-trips, and everything is expensive there. After Whistler the road narrows and the traffic gets much less – so the first glimpse of wilderness can be enjoyed – including a short view on a glacier before the clouds hid it again.
