On our way north we took a small detour on a scenic byway. This road lead us through an area that looked quite familiar to us – it nearly felt like home. But we started in an arid region that day and also ended the day in one – this time the region had at least a well-known name: Salt Lake City
The last stop on our “tour de national park” that week. The Capitol Reef National Park covers a quite small area but nevertheless it was nice to do a drive through. The weather was not so inviting to do a hike and on the other hand we had really enough of desert, prairie and rocks. So after visiting there we started to head north – a long way was ahead of us until we could visit the next national park on our list.
